Entsorga North America, a subsidiary of BioHiTech Global, is purchasing 12 acres at Stewart International Airport in New Windsor, N.Y., for $1.1 million to build a new waste-to-fuel plant. Under the contract approved by the Town Board, Entsorga has up to two years to complete the purchase.

The Town Board has approved a contract to sell 12 acres at Stewart International Airport to an international waste-to-fuel company which hopes to build a plant there.

The agreement approved Wednesday gives Entsorga North America, a subsidiary of BioHiTech Global, up to two years to purchase the land for almost $1.1 million, said town Supervisor George Green.

The town had been negotiating with Entsorga for the land between Route 207 and Hudson Valley Avenue since the summer, Green said.
